What are BOTOX ®, Xeomin ® and Dysport ®?

Botox ®, Xeomin ® and Dysport, are registered brands for Botulinum Toxin, which  is injectable and used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe facial lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

You may feel that the moderate to severe glabellar lines between your brows make you look tired or unapproachable then Botox ® Xiomin and Dysport ® may be the one for you.

Botox ® Xiomin and Dysport ® – Botulinum Toxin – , is one of the most important substances to hit the field of facial rejuvenation. This substance is the most popular way to reduce facial wrinkles. Botox ® Xiomin and Dysport ® can be used as a wrinkle treatment to smooth:

  • Frown lines (vertical lines that appear between your brows)
  • Crow’s feet (wrinkles around the corners of the eyes )
  • Forehead furrows ( Forehead wrinkle lines )
  • Skin bands on the neck

Botox ® Xiomin and Dysport ® type A (Botulinum Toxin, type A) is a purified substance, derived from a bacteria. Injections of this substance blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines diminishing  your unwanted facial wrinkles.

With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why Botulinum Toxin (Botox ® and Xeomin ®) has been chosen by millions of patients. Botox Dysport Xeomin Dermal Fillers

Ask Dr. Phanor Calle (A member of American Board of Cosmetic Surgery) at Weston Medical Clinic & Cosmetic Center about Botulinum Toxin (Botox ® – Xeomin®) to find out, if it is right for you.

Aging skin and wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes, collagen depletion, hormone loss, or damage caused by free radicals. The 11s – those vertical lines that appear between your brows – result from muscle contractions. When you concentrate, squint, or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. After years of frequent contraction, those wrinkles can linger even after the muscles are at rest.

Here’s how it works

Botulinum toxin consultation Injections of botulinum toxin may seem like a simple procedure to you, since it’s just a few shots. But it’s actually both an art and science that only an experienced healthcare professional should do.

It’s vital that the person who performs botulinum toxin injections understands and pinpoints the correct spots to optimize your treatment.   Botox – Xeomin – Dysport

A very thin needle is used to inject small amounts of botulinum toxin into specific muscles. By carefully choosing specific muscles, your healthcare provider weakens only the wrinkle-producing muscles, preserving your natural facial expressions.

Botulinum toxin treatment injections usually takes just 10 to 20 minutes, although treatment times can vary from person to person. The number of injections you need will depend on multiple factors, including your facial features and the extent of your wrinkles. Crow’s feet, for example, usually demand two to three injections. Furrows above your brow could take five or more.

No anesthesia is required. There is no down time or recovery time.

You may notice results within a few days, but it can take up to a week to see the full effect. This improvement typically lasts about three to four months. When the effects of botulinum toxin begin to fade, your muscle reactions and the wrinkles will return.

How much will a Botulinum Toxin procedure cost?

The cost for botulinum toxin treatments may vary based on the expertise and qualifications of the person performing the treatment, time and effort the procedure or treatment requires and areas treated, as well as geographic office location.

You may resume normal activities immediately. One note of caution: Don’t rub or massage the treated areas after the wrinkle treatment because it can cause the botulinum toxin to migrate to another area of your face. If this happens, you could have temporary facial weakness or drooping.
